Principles of Aquatic Massage Therapy
The physical benefits of the water are derived from the cardiac-neutral temperature (36°C) and the hydrostatic pressure of the water exerted on the body. The low gravity environment decreases the pressure exerted on the joints and facilitates an ease of movement not possible on land, thereby easing muscular aches and pains, relaxing muscle and joints. Whether one is treating or being treated the water is indiscriminate in providing these benefits.
